International Journal of Emergency Mental Health and Human Resilience with H Index:36, Google Scholar h5 Index:9 is a multidisciplinary quarterly designed to be the premier international forum and authority for the discussion of all aspects of emergency mental health.

The Journal publishes manuscripts on relevant topics including psychological trauma, disaster psychology, traumatic stress, addiction behaviors, crisis intervention, emergency services, critical incident stress management, war, occupational stress and crisis, employee assistance programs, violence, terrorism, emergency medicine and surgery, emergency nursing, suicidology, burnout and compassion fatigue, cognitive science, behavioral science, psychology and psychotherapy, mental health and disability, sleep disorders and other mental disorders etc.

The Journal publishes original research, case studies, innovations in program development, scholarly reviews, theoretical discourse and book reviews. Additionally, it encourages the submission of philosophical reflections, responsible speculations, and commentary. As special features, the Journal provides an ongoing continuing education series providing topical reviews and updates relevant to emergency mental health and ongoing annotated research review of relevant papers published elsewhere thus making the Journal a unique and even more valuable reference resource. The editorial board consists of a panel of international luminaries entrusted with the task of providing the readership to the journal with the state-of-the-art information that will be of value to all who function within the field of emergency mental health.

International Journal of Emergency Mental Health and Human Resilience is a peer reviewed scientific Journal known for rapid dissemination of high-quality research. This Journal with high impact factor offers an open access platform for the authors in the academia and industry to publish their novel research. It serves the International Scientific Community with its standard research publications. Mental Depression

Depression is much more than sadness, it varies from person to person and even with age but has some common symptoms. Sometimes psychological problems can cause depression and sometimes it depends on the day to day life of an individual where they experience depressed mood, loss of interest, feeling of guilt etc. More than 25% of patients suffering with depression are suffering with Psychotic depression. People with mental disorders like schizophrenia also experience mental depression.

Mental Health Statistics

It is estimated that about 25% of population will experience some kind of mental health problem in the course of a year, with mixed anxiety and depression and women are found to be the most common victims then men and about 10% of children suffer from mental health disorders. Mental health problems are found in people of all ages, regions, countries and societies. Suicide remains the most common cause of death in men under the age of 35. Schizophrenia is a serious disorder of the mind and brain but it is also highly treatable - yet the facts around it make for alarming reading.

Psychiatric Rehabilitation

Psychiatric rehabilitation, also known as psychosocial rehabilitation, and sometimes simplified to psych rehab by providers, is the process of restoration of community functioning and well-being of an individual diagnosed in mental health or mental or emotional disorder and who may be considered to have a psychiatric disability. Society affects the psychology of an individual by setting number of rules, expectations and laws. Psychiatric rehabilitation work is undertaken by rehabilitation counselors, licensed professional counselors, psych rehab consultants or specialists, university level Masters and PhD levels, classes of related disciplines in mental health and community support or allied health workers represented in the new direct support professional workforce.

Psychiatric Care

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the study, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders. These include various affective, behavioural, cognitive and perceptual abnormalities. Initial psychiatric assessment of a person typically begins with a case history and mental status examination. Psychological tests and physical examinations may be conducted, including on occasion the use of neuroimaging or other neurophysiological techniques. Mental disorders are broadly diagnosed in accordance with criteria listed in diagnostic manuals such as the widely used Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), published by the American Psychiatric Association, and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), edited and used by the World Health Organization.

Mental Disorders

A mental disorder, also called a mental illness or psychiatric disorder, is mental or behavioral pattern that causes either suffering or a poor ability to function in ordinary life. Many disorders are described. Conditions that are excluded include social norms. Signs and symptoms depend on the specific disorder. The causes of mental disorders are often unclear. This may be associated with particular regions or functions of the brain, often in a social context. A mental disorder is one aspect of mental health. The scientific study of mental disorders is called psychopathology

Mental Health Facilities

Modern psychiatric hospitals evolved from, and eventually replaced the older lunatic asylums. The treatment of inmates in early lunatic asylums was sometimes brutal and focused on containment and restraint with successive waves of reform, and the introduction of effective evidence-based treatments, modern psychiatric hospitals provide a primary emphasis on treatment, and attempt where possible to help patients control their own lives in the outside world, with the use of a combination of psychiatric drugs and psychotherapy.

Sleep Disorder

A sleep disorder, or somnipathy, is a medical disorder of the sleep patterns of a person or animal. Some sleep disorders are serious enough to interfere with normal physical, mental, social and emotional functioning. Polysomnography and actigraphy are tests commonly ordered for some sleep disorders. Sleep disorders are broadly classified into dyssomnias, parasomnias, circadian rhythm sleep disorders involving the timing of sleep, and other disorders including ones caused by medical or psychological conditions and sleeping sickness.
